Here’s our first look at the Dokkan Battle 8th Anniversary LRs (2024)

Eight years is a long time for any game to survive, let alone a mobile gachapon one. And yet, the DBZ Dokkan Battle 8th anniversary is days away and brings forth a new batch of LR cards. While the countdown event has been going strong for weeks in-game, we now have our first look at the two Legendary Rarity cards coming to Dokkan Battle banners. A number of cards got their spotlight reveal on the Dokkan Battle Global Twitter account yesterday.

Well, we hope you like Goku and Vegeta. Honestly, would we all have it any other way?

We have two new Dokkan Battle 8th Anniversary LRs: Universe's Last Hope Super Saiyan 3 Goku & Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta and Miracle-Making Final Showdown Goku (GT) & Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta. Yes, this means more GT cards. Sorry.

A new skill coming with this batch of LRs is the Standby skill. After waiting a certain number of turns the player can swap out the standby version of the LR for an updated version. The skill is used to represent a number of story events. In the case of this Dokkan Battle 8th Anniversary LR, it showcases the three minutes that Vegeta buys Goku to power up his attack again Kid Buu at the end of the Buu Saga.

  "Power of Wishes" or "Final Trump Card" Category Ki +3 and HP, ATK & DEF +170%; plus an additional HP, ATK & DEF +30% for characters who also belong to the "Connected Hope" or "Majin Buu Saga" Category
• PASSIVE SKILL
  Keep the Hope Alive! - Unable to attack except when Finish Effect is activated; DEF +250%; guards all attacks and randomly changes Ki Spheres of a certain Type to Rainbow icon Ki Spheres for 4 turns from start of turn; reduces damage received by 8% per Ki Sphere obtained; ATK +500% when Finish Effect is activated

Ah, GT cards. Do they ever stop popping up like so many Saibamen? While we've seen the likes of SSJ4 Goku and Vegeta before, this one features a core difference. The Standby Skill actives at 50 percent HP or less and gives us a Goku preparing the ultimate Spirit Bomb.

  "Power of Wishes" or "Battle of Fate" Category Ki +3 and HP, ATK & DEF +170%; plus an additional HP, ATK & DEF +30% for characters who also belong to the "Final Trump Card" or "Shadow Dragon Saga" Category
• PASSIVE SKILL
  Deadly Final Battle - ATK & DEF +200%; plus an additional ATK & DEF +50% when HP is 50% or more; An additional Ki +1 per Ki Sphere obtained and an additional DEF +100% as the 1st attacker in a turn; plus an additional Ki +2 per Ki Sphere obtained and an additional ATK +100% as the 2nd or 3rd attacker in a turn; launches an additional attack that has a great chance[5] of becoming a Super Attack when Ki is 18 or more; launches an additional Super Attack when Ki is 24; Ki +1 and reduces damage received by 10% (up to 50%) with each Super Attack performed

These new Dokkan Battle 8th Anniversary LR cards will hit the banners in two days at the start of the event. Until then be sure to save up your Dragon Stones--you're gonna need em.
